Strategic Analyst - Research and Innovation
Do you have knowledge of the transition to a fossil-free energy system or experience in the research system? We are now looking for an analytical colleague for the Department of Research, Innovation, and Business Development to strengthen our analysis team in the Strategy and Analysis Unit. Apply for the position and contribute to achieving energy and climate policy goals.
The Swedish Energy Agency works for a fossil-free and robust energy supply. Security of supply, competitiveness, and ecological sustainability are perspectives that must be combined to secure the future energy system.
Your Responsibilities – Analysis, Evaluation, and Follow-up
As a strategic analyst, you will work with complex issues and advanced tasks related to the agency's funding of research and innovation for the transition of the energy system. Your tasks will include strategic work, analyses, follow-up, and evaluation that make a difference in the energy field.
You will collaborate both internally and externally, with external contacts involving national cooperation as well as EU/international levels, for example, with other research funders in Sweden and internationally.
Together with colleagues, you will initiate and lead processes within strategy, analysis, follow-up, and evaluation of the agency's research and innovation portfolio. The operations will introduce both new working methods and approaches for this work (both quantitative and qualitative, preferably developed with experience in modern AI tools).
In your role as an analyst with us, you will have a particular focus on leading and further developing the department's follow-up and evaluation activities, as well as contributing to other strategic issues based on our instructions and the Energy Research Proposition.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in fields such as economics, political science, other social sciences, engineering, and natural sciences, or other areas that the Swedish Energy Agency considers relevant for the position.
You have several years of work experience with complex tasks in analysis work such as strategic work, follow-up, and evaluation work. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of relevant analysis and evaluation methods. You have experience in project management and collaboration with various stakeholders.
You communicate well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You also have good knowledge of IT systems and programs.
For this position, it is advantageous if you have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience and knowledge in the energy field - for example, energy policy, energy systems, research, or innovation in energy.
- Experience in project management within relevant areas of work, such as strategy, analysis, evaluation, or similar.
- Knowledge of research funding in the public sector.
- Work experience from a government agency.
- Doctoral education in a relevant field.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We are looking for someone with strong analytical problem-solving skills who can see connections and draw logical conclusions from complex and limited information. You work independently and take responsibility for meeting deadlines and achieving results. To succeed in the role, you need to be driven and able to collaborate easily with others to contribute to a holistic view. The role requires flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to the needs of the organization.
